Hey sorry it took me so long to get here. Best bet is to pick a date and track then get 928'ers out together and join in. kind of like what we are doing at our event next week. (5) 928's will be there to help each other. Watkins glen is ~$16,000 to rent for two days, and we spend near ~$1000 to insure us fo rthe event. Then T-Shirts, registration fees, paperwork and all the rest cost a few grand in them selves. But I'm guessing ~$20k would be the price of the average event we do. Split that to 100 or so people and there you go.

The money we make at our events goes back to pay for internal regional social events like breakfast drives, club meetings with meals, etc.....

I'd be glad to help, but I'm guessing, like i said before, its a lot easier to get everyone here to register together for an event. I've been to enough DE's as the only 928 but oh well I've always been a bit of an individualist anyway.

Curt,

That is the same for us here in HCR PCA... We do our events at Texas Wold Speedway and we have LOST money several times, but normally make a little bit to keep things running in the club.

Thanks for the numbers Curt. It really puts things in perspective. I was talking to my regions registrar at the annual picnic 2 weeks ago and he brought up some good points. I think to get the ball rolling, we should start by posting up a poll of people who whould be interested in attending a trackside event and people who would actually want to get on track. Then find a common track that would be suitable for those to attend within reason, Then try to coordinate all interested parties to register for an existing event as early as possible to guarantee acceptance......

Sounds like a plan to me. Our track events are Memorial Day and the Tuesday after and then in early October. We also have a Solo only in June. I'll give real dates when we get the contracts.
