I have been doing some further checking and found that altho it is too late this year to figure some type of track event involving Frenzy this year,
there are events and programs at Summit point that allow a group to come out and use the track on a Friday with instructors for the day..

FATT....Friday at the Track is an event that the Mgmt of Summit Point holds about 8 times a year..unfortunately, the closest one to Frenzy this year is a week later...the BMW Club of Wash has got the track locked up for the Frenzy weekend and the week before that is PCA Club Races.

This would be a HUGE component of next years Frenzy possibly.......

Have a track day on Friday, 50 miles back to the hotel and Frenzy on Saturday.......

I would also think that guys could come down for FATT anytime during the season if it was set up in advance...that is something I would be able to plan

That is what Marc White set up for the '04 OCIC and it ROCKED!!! Though the track was further from Wichita than what you are talking about.

Nothing says we can't have regional track day events for the 928. I knew somewhere in this club there was going to be someone who could facilitate this.
Malcom, what do you think it would take, at least in your situation, to be able to put something like this together and make it 928 focused?

Kevin, I think this could really be something to consider as I enjoyed Frenzy as well and to be able to tie it up with a legal, highspeed drive,IMHO would make it one that's hard to beat. I won't be there this year but maybe if you are you could put out a little poll of the participants and the organizers and get a feel of interest.

Hey Ed,

Shame you guys cannot make it this year for Frenzy

Thanks for the encouragement about a track oriented event
for our 928 crew...I think this could be a Monster
Fun type of event and your idea of a Poll is just the method
to generate interest....

James, thanks for your reply....gonna start looking into more
aspects of the whole 928/sunroof/helmet thing
Also going to step into my 79 with my helmet to really
see the difference tween the 88 and 79, nonsunroof
The required helmet is a SA 2005-2010..gotta have fire
protection to qualify for track at least around here
I guess that is one reason they are so tall inside

I will keep in touch....Cheers, Kevin in VA
