Trickle charger suggestions/help

I think you have seen my set ups for several of the sharks. I use the Schumacher battery tenders that you can get at WalMart and then put the pigtail out the back of the battery box (actually I think it is out the bottom of the box) and hide that tail up in the rear bumper cover when not in use. They work GREAT!

I do remember them, but had no idea who made them or where to start looking. I would have never guessed Wally-world.

With all the car-show stuff I watch I have picked up the Battery Tender guys and they seem to have a good reputation on pretty much all the forums I frequent.

Right on. I think any of them are pretty good! For whatever reason the first one I got was a Schumacher and I liked it and it worked well, so I have just stuck w/ that brand.

The Battery Tender Plus is a very good unit, and the company is good to deal with. The unit comes with a long cord between the unit and the car, with a polarized connector in the middle, and several different ends to hook to the car.

You could use the end that has ring terminals and hook positive to the jump start terminal and ground to the body. Run the cord out to the grille and leave the connector where you can get to it easily. The wife would have no problem hooking it up - it can't be connected incorrectly.

Put the tender nearby and leave it plugged in. Attach the cord that goes to the car to the wall near the tender. Then, if if either of you forget to unplug the cord to the car. it should just pull the plug apart with no damage to the car or the tender unit.

This would also leave the car cord with the alligator battery clips available to use on the riding lawn mower battery, the motorcycle battery, etc. Just unplug the 928, plug the alligator clip cord to the tender, and hook it up.

I ordered the Plus yesterday, and I'm hoping to find a good picture for my wife to reference for the banana clips. Anyone here have one they care to share?

I'll do the "hard-wire" once I get home.

i have an autometer battery extender. been using that for years. i just wired the plug to the battery and have the little pig tale under the rear bumper and plug it in at night..
