The only thing I do not like about this solution is that it does not fix the problem.
I leave my car for 2-3 months at a time with it hooked up and I know that I can walk up and it will start.
I installed a good quality battery and I found my drain which was a rear defog relay.

Just my 2 cents.

This is mainly for when I am deployed, like now. It doesn't get driven regularly when I'm not home, and as the battery was going off before I left and I didn't get it replaced, this is my current solution.

Plus, I can use it to maintain other things as well, once I actually replace the battery. Before my battery started to kick the bucket, it could sit for a good while and not have any effects.

I'm going to check for drains regardless, no time now though!

Brad, I'm in Central America. I appreciate the thought!

My last two deployments were in Afghanistan though, so this is a NICE change.

i've had the drain issue with my car since day one. if i leave it un attended for more than 3 or 4 days the brand new battery will drain. got myself a jumb starter and im looking forward to having the electrical system in the car checked. one of my first issues was one of the lights inside the car, was blown but it was ON and still somehow pulling power. after the last time i re-charged the battery and plugged it back in, hmmm no lights or the clock work.
