Sounds similar to mine where the previous owner changed the color, but just did a re-spray (no door sills, engine bay etc ) and at the same time used a non-porsche color. I feel your pain. I ended up finding a Dodge Viper grey metallic touch up that very closely resembles that the PO did originally. Just trial and error like you did. However, if I ever decide to paint it again, it will take some work to get the color right since I have 2 colors on it already! yikes.... Good luck getting yours straight.
