I seem to be getting the run around as to paint codes for this car.
The PPG and Dupont paint codes in the attachment I am told locally here in New Zealand are USA paint codes???? See attached code jpeg.

The body tags have been removed by a previous owner so can't verify.
Any opinions??

Hi Dean
Japanese cars seem to have been delivered without the main option code sticker on the boot floor. My car doesn't have a sticker and is ex Japan as well. Your car should have a paint code sticker in the sill of the passenger door. looking at the landshark site the code should be either 22D or 23F. I think the paint manufacturer will be Glasurit. I had some colour correction done at Evans European and they used that brand of paint and they'd get it right. If you ask for garth there he'll help you out, a good guy.
I believe I looked at your car, was it the car in Sth Auckland on Trademe listed for a while? Very nice car with low km's, though the selling situation was a bit strange and scared me off bit. Are you looking at painting the front bumper cover and from memory the drivers mirror had worn a scrape? I ended up buying a Marine Blue S4 from down the line.
Let me know if you're keen to catch up, the 928 community is a bit quiet, orphaned a bit by the usual Porsche crowd.
Cheers
Richard

Welcome.
My ex-Japan LHD has no option code sticker in the trunk/boot, but does have the paint code sticker on the driver's side (in my case left) door post/B-pillar. Mine is Stone Grey.

G'day Richard,
Well after the second can of paint still no match. The paint guys could not match the respray paint. Seems the respray colour they can't match. Then it seems when repainted that the clear coat was mixed with some base coat making it more difficult. So off I went with the second can. I also order a little touchup tube fromm touchup.co.nz It is the "original" colour" it is also darker then the current.
Painted the spot and now have a much darker spot. Yikes I am trading water here.
So I may go to Repco with the petrol filler door and see if I can find a slighly lighter colour of Duplicolour. I may try another paint company in Auckland. They all advertise matching but no luck so far.
I have had to repair a number of small things on the car, make adjustments etc.. But overall it is strong with no major issues. There were no scrapes on the car when I bought it. Though the exhaust was LOUD. I added a S4 rear muffler and two others.
I just had a 3M covering to the lower bonnet and front bumper to stop paint chips.
Cheers, Dean

Hi there,
Turns out I have a respray where they mixed base coat and clear so a bit difficult. The local Porsche dealer was kind enough to send a spec sheet on the vin# so I know what colour it used to be.
