**928 Track Day Event March 15-17,2013**

Hey Folks,

Sorry to give you that scare in my last post......

I checked with the PCA President and registrar....

This is a Zone 2 PCA event and the only experience requirements are
to have a Porsche, Tech Inspection and long sleeve shirt, soft soled shoes and a Snell rated Helmet......

Other Regions and chapters have some of their own requirements...
Like mine......

So....NO GLITCH......sorry for the trouble,,,have a good time.....

I was going to say that is HIGHLY unusual for a PCA event to NOT allow total newbies to participate. Now, if it is a limited weekend event or one that is connected to a Club Race or some other "special" event where there is not a cadre of instructors then yes, they have to limit participation to those who are solo approved, but for a big event with a full slate of instructors generally they LOVE the new folks to come out and play! Glad this is one of those.

Be sure if you are new to pay close attention to your instructor...VIR is a GREAT race track, but it can bite your A$$ quickly (if doing the long course) if you are not on your game, or think you are actually a "good" driver! LOL! I used to race motorcycles and thought I was pretty good till I got to my first DE...YOWZA! That is a whole different world. I had a good base of experience and caught on and advanced quickly to the instructor ranks!

A DE is a GREAT learning experience and EVERYONE should take their 928 out to the track at least a few times to really see what it is like! You will love it! Trust me!

I signed up the other day but still haven't received my confirmation yet. I guess they want to make sure the credit card is good.
Looking very much forward to this as I miss on my last event in November thhanks to the flu!

I was really hoping there would be a stronger 928 turn out here than just 3 of us.
I must say i am a bit intimidated by all the cars i see on the list ....and me with just a stock S4 auto that doubles as a DD.

Better start practicing my point-by's so my left arm doesn't wear out over 3 days... LOL.... (maybe i should request a demotion to green run group)

...whatever the case, i am still very much looking forward to this event. VIR is a beautiful place.
