Why bother? Does anyone actually use their foglights for serious visibility?

They do actually work in fog pretty well...

I have HID's in the fogs (with some reflector modfications). These give good lateral lighting for corners. I also sometimes use them alone in the city with good road lighting.

ROW cars keep the fogs on with the driving lights unlike USA cars. You can configure a USA car like this too.

Later cars have the option of fogs as DRL's (stock in some countries - inluding Canada...)

Wally at dusk I will often run with only my fogs on...then when it gets to dark or I am on roads that are not lit I will turn the actual headlights on and turn off the fogs...

i use my fog lights as well. most of the time. in the city i dont put the headlights on unless its very dark.
