You have a few options depending on if your car is a U.S. or Euro
some have the 8" lamp while most U.S. get the 7"
Here is a page on the web of some cheep options.

8" glass ONLY on S4's and newer and they should ALL have the 8" frankly! H4 or H5 makes little difference. Knock yourself out, go w/ what you like!

Aren't the H4 bulbs illegal in the US or have the laws changed on that?

I don't know. I think the big bulbs are frowned upon everywhere.
But they can't catch us all :D

Austin,

There was SOME reason we never saw H4's in this country and I think any time you buy and H4 in the US there is a warning that says, "not intended for street use" or something like that. Has slowed NO ONE DOWN who wants them, that is FOR SURE! I just like the look of the big glass, I don't care if it is H4 or H5 personally...but that is just me.

Sorry I'm soooo late to this post but I just recently began researching converting my 1984S 7" US lamps to the bigger and better 8" euro style lamps. I've looked at both the US and RoW catalogs to assess the differences and the only things I can find that are needed to convert the headlight are the Lamps, adjusting rods for the Euro lamps and support brackets for the Euro lamps. All the other items in both catalogs have identical part numbers - even the headlight electrical connectors on the wiring harness are the same part number. Unless I'm missing something subtle, it should be a relatively simple swap out. Of course, I still haven't ascertained the legality of the Euro lamps but I'll cross that bridge if and when I need to. I sure see a lot of VERY bright headlights on the road these days! As a final note, I found replacement Euro lamps from a Porsche dealer for a little over $250 apiece which is well below many of the other sources on the Internet and they include the halogen bulb, protective cap and speed nut! If any of you see fault with my analysis please let me know.
