New 928 Owner Checking In

It's always something, isn't it?

After a bit more digging, and a lot of help on the 928 section of rennlist, I've found that this model year does not have a fhywheel mounted reference sensor.

Instead it has the 'green wire' a hall effect sensor mounted on the distributor that does the same thing. Well I'm waiting on that part now, but now I also have to reset my timing as I had to pull the distributor to get the old wire off!

Good luck, with your new ride. Hope you marked the distributor good, before removing...makes tgings a bit easier on installation. You say you replaced the vacuum lines, but I see no mention of fuel lines...this is very important on these old 928's. Old rubber fuel lines along passenger side inner fender and beneath the air cleaner can cause certain death to yoir car if they spring a leak. Should be one of the first things on your list to replace.

As far as your no fuel pump running issue...you should have a couple extra small wires on the positive post of your battery, might want to check that area for an issue. Also, clean all of your grounds really well, under the hood and on the battery.
