89 Shark in Carolina waters

Having owned several Porsches, old and new, I have now been bitten by the shark! My name is Dave Van Epps from Charlotte and I've owned an 89 silver/burgundy S4 for about 90 days now. Why? My wife certainly asked that question having purchased a 911S (991) just 3 months earlier. Not difficult to justify at all. I love every moment behind the wheel of the 991, but I wanted to get my hands dirty and actually do something with a car. The 928 scratches that itch perfectly. Beautiful lines, performance and German engineering, but a 26 year old car provides plenty of opportunities to explore the limits of my mechanical inclinations. So far so good, but I do know my limits.

I have been on a crash course trying to learn all I can about these great cars since day one. It's been great fun and the information, photos and tips found in forums like this one have been invaluable! Thanks to all. I look forward to more fun and likely a few surprises.

I had to justify purchasing mine to my wife as well, given the '95 Mazda RX-7 already occupying a spot in the garage. I used the back seats (perfect size for my three year old son!) to help with my cause.
