Organizing a 928 OC Sponsored Event

I am quite pleased to say I developed the 928 OC program of sponsoring local events. From 2003 to 2010 we have sponsored a few dozen local events, perhaps a dozen larger regional/national events, and 3 OCICs.

The dollar amount we sponsor each event for has varied, and is primarily based on the size of the event, with the number of 928 owners in attendance being the most important consideration.

The required criteria for having an event sponsored is:
1. 928 OC board approval, voting is electronic and can be view by members at forums.928oc.org/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=11
Voting is by board members only.
2. 928 OC Adveristing and Design Chairperson approval of the logo use and placement.
3. The person coordinating the sponsorship with the 928 OC is a 928 OC member.

The following are not (yet) required, but are asked of all event coordinators:
1. Hang the 928 OC banner at the event, it will be shipped to the event organizer, and it is requested that it be shipped to the next event.
2. Make the attendees aware of the 928 OC sponsorship. Of course the logo on the "enduring memento" helps with that (commonly a shirt or hat).
3. Make 928 OC membership applications available to attendees (prospective members).

For small events, we have sent a few items from our goodie store, although 3 is really small

I want to say thank you to the 928OC for their sponsorship of the 3rd 'Sharks at the Beach' event. We had it this Saturday 10/9/2010 and it was a huge success.

We had about 18 or 20 people and probably 15 sharks there. The weather was perfect, the company was great and the drive/lunch/gtg went off perfectly.

Everyone loved the goodies from 928OC as well as our two other sponsors: 928sRus and Autowerks9.

Very nice shot Mike. More pics. are always good.Congratulations on a successful event. Hopefully next year will allow me to visit more than one event. Meeting new people with a shared passion for the 928 is always a good time.

We thank you for organizing the event, as without the grass roots efforts it simply wouldn't happen. Our goal is to encourage and support such events.
