Alright,
It is time to thin the heard!
The '84 (US, auto) just had $1k in service done because it was handling very poorly and scaring the crap out of me! So, I get the car back and the A/C will freeze you out and it drives like it is on RAILS (always cracks me up when I read when someone says that so I figured I HAD to say it! LOL!)
Seriously I don't want to sell this car AT ALL, but the economy (my personal economy anyway) is not getting any better so I had best part with something and this is the only one I can even consider parting with. I was not willing to put it on the market w/o doing the big service that I just did though. Now I like the car to much to want to sell it.
It leaks NOTHING, drives GREAT, freaking freezing A/C, auto, Ruby Red paint that is SUPER NICE (but not perfect), 113k miles. The bad (none of it to bad I might add!) black and Can-Can interior that needs to have the front seats recovered (but neither front seat is cracked through, so an industrious owner might be able to make them quite presentable with some time and effort), crap stereo (I have a decent Pioneer CD player I will send along so you can use it if you like), cruise not working and the dash had been recovered at great expense at some point and then when it started to peel they just cut it off. Does not look terrible, but certainly is not up to what I like my cars to look like. I think I saw Rob Budd makes a stitched leather "cover" for the dash that you just might be able to fit on this car w/o removing the dash...
I won't take less than $7500 (so I probably don't have to worry about selling it) but I will be listing it on CL next week and the asking price will be $8250!
Oh, tonight I was driving it and had the headlights on and a young guy in a truck with his GF pulls up slowly next to me and waves. I roll my window down and he says, "those lights are cool." So I turn them off and he FREAKS OUT! He LOVED IT!! GF giving the big thumbs up too! First time I have ever had anyone freak over the lights on a 928! LOL!
Anyway, here is a pic to stimulate you... Pulls like a freight train for a US 4.7L too...I am quite happy with the car and love the Ruby red with gold anodized wheels...

Jeff,
It was great taking to you yesterday. As you noted this would be a good intro to the 928 world. Most everything is working (no cruise, power antenna broken, but I think everything else is good), needs little work if any before you could drive it across the country!
Looks GREAT on the outside (had two more hot girls comment on how pretty the car is when I was at the voting place yesterday) and it looks OK on the inside... some elbow grease and a leather redye kit and maybe the Rob Budd stitched leather dash cover (at least I think I saw one of those from Rob) would make the interior VERY NICE actually...
It is a car you can just drive and enjoy and be very proud of!

I'll get some more up soon!
Thanks Brad!
You know it is like a child...I don't want to get rid of it but know it could go to a home where it will see more love and road time! Car is really running strong and I have been driving it a fair bit this past week.

I know the feeling.
I drive mine more the closer it gets to having to put it away for the winter.
I hate having to warm it up at work before hitting the highway in freezing temperatures
