9x17ET55 need spacer on back?

'89 S4

Picked up some Cup 2's - 9x17's and 7x17's to repace my stock flats. Both are ET55.

Can anybody tell me if I should us a spacer on the back and what size?

I dont have tires yet.

I would put tires on and do a test fit.
You might be ok with out spacers. Once the tires are on and you have the car on the ground, you will see how much room there is between the tire and the fender. The spacer will move the tire closer to the fender.

The 89 S4 does not have rolled fenders so Id do as Brad suggests but remember not all rubber is the same and differ in width from manufacturer.

The rims and tyres on Brads car used to on my car and the rears were very tight with Michein PS2s. when I installed Michelin pilot sports same marked size the actual clearance was more........275x40x17

Sorry, I didn't see your question. That would really be up to Gary, as he would have to handle it, but I would suspect if it wasn't overly difficult he would be willing. Did you email Gary directly?
