hard starting

Hey guy's quick question i bought a 928 on ebay and had it shipped to my house,only problem with it is it took a while to get started , after it warmed up it started beter but it took a few seconds.Then today i tried starting it after about a minute i gave up opened the air cleaner and put a small cap of gas into the throttle body and she fired right up, what's going on, also for a minute after start the idle lops up and down for a minute any help would be appreciated.

What was the ambient temp when you tried your last cold start? It may be possible that your cold start injector is defective and/or there may be a fault in the plug or wiring going to it.

The temp was around high 40's low 50's.

it is more then likely the cold start injector, if your car has one.
You have not told us what your car is or put it in your signature.

The other possibility is the thermo time switch
Also check the aux air valve for not opening enough - pull the front hose off it, and check that when cold, you can get at least a pencil right through.

We need as much detail as possible

Im sorry just bought a 1982 porsche 928 auto, don't know much about them though i know their is a cold start injector.I have not done much yet , just got it yesterday once i get it running and warmed up it idles and runs great.
