Thermostat housing cleaning

Here are a few pictures of how I cleaned it up.

before I started.




This is how I removed the inner seal







Now it is ready to start cleaning





I used a wire wheel on a Dremel




Then I used a rubber none abrasive buffer



Looking a little better ?





The stat hose housing was nasty as well



But I cleaned the edges the same way

The whole point is to clean with out damaging



Then I buffed it with the die-grinder

Are you going to throw some sort of clear coating on that thermostat cover so it doesn't corrode and stays shiny?

BradW buffed mine for me a couple of years ago. I sprayed it with some clear enamel and it's still shiny and looking good.
