carpet touch up with fabric paint was created by rgs944
I used carpet and fabric paint to touch up the carpet today. It worked very well to brighten up the carpet and make it actually black again so it blends in with the new Lloyd floor mats. I was'nt sure about going with flat black or gloss black. The flat worked great and made the carpet look near new again. I think it should also give a little protection as well to extend the life of the original carpet. Here are a few pics of the tool cover 2/3's painted and the hatch carpet 1/2 done.

Lookin' good. I got some spray black fabric paint to paint some trim pieces when I redid the headliner in my 318i, it wound up a really dark gray, but it looked cool against the black faux suede headliner fabric.
I need to do something like this to my hatch floor mat. Someone put bleach or something on it, and it is now some awful puke green color, but the stitching is all still burgundy...

Somehow the idea of spray paint for fabric seems wrong - but I have had good success with it on carpets too. I also refreshed the back of some of my carpets with black truck bed paint which worked much better than it sounds...

Thanks guys, as far as the truck bed liner to shore up the carpet backing I do that too. Yes it works very well.
