the 2 plastic fuses behind fuse panel are hard to find, when i found them, i took them apart to check fuses, but i didn,t know that there were springs inside them, i,m still looking for springs but can,t find them, but i haven,t stopped looking. does anyone have any? does anyone know what size they are if i have to buy 2? the fuses were fine but i can.t put them back together without the springs. thanks, john

In-line fuse holders always have springs...

See if you can adapt ballpoint pen springs.

walter, do you have any idea how long springs should be? and how do you hold springs and fuses in place while you try to put them together again? thank you so much, john volak

John,

Wallace, actually, but Wally by preference.

Not off the top of my head. A suggestion - it is always a good idea to include the model year and any other pertinent info about your car. Perhaps someone with a similar car would be willing to disassemble their car far enough to answer your question on size.

The spring has to be small enough to fit inside the holder, so the diameter of the fuse gives you the max diameter.

The spring must be long enough to give firm contact, but short enough that it will still be springy when installed. That is, if it is too long, it will "coil-bind", or collapse.

My first attempt would be to destroy a cheap pen to get a spring, then cut it in half (beware of flying ends!) and try it.

John,
Take the fuse to radioshack and buy an inline fuseholder that fits the fuse and then take the spring out and put it in the one in the car - repeat if you need two.
Good luck,
Roger
