79 928 AC Control Head was created by gsc928
Hello All, I just purchased a, 79 928, from the original owner with, 33000 miles on the clock. It's never seen rain or snow. The AC control head needs to be replaced. Part # 92857306105. I haven't had any luck finding a replacement. I did find two electronic units here in Denver but there not compatible for my car. I've checked, Ebay, 928 International, 928r us, etc, but no luck. Does anyone know where I might be able to pick one up?
Thanks
Thanks

I believe there is a repair that you can do yourself depending.
normally its just a small relay that blows that can be replaced with a radio shack relay.
The thread about it in on Rennlist.
lets see if anyone else chimes in

Unless Tom at 928 intel or Roger at 928Rus can help, you may just have to wait for someone that is scraping an older model to speak up.
There was someone on the 928Owners Club facebook page that had some parts they were going to throw out.

Yes it depends on how dead it is. You can fix some external and small things. Check around Mr Google and see what pops up. But if you don't know and/or don't care to try it yourself, you can try some small electronic shops for someone willing to pull it apart and try to recondition it, or try to find a replacement. If you do find one,,, you might pay 100 for scrap or 800-1000.00 for something that is either new or guaranteed to work.
Hopefully you have a sunroof in the meantime..
But indeed Roger or Tom are good places to start first.

Thanks for the responses. I've been told the control head is not repairable. I'm trying to find a replacement but no luck so far.
