:confused:I have not been on the 928 forum since February, In February I took a job with my company in Seoul Korea, before I knew I was taking my new role I had pulled my engine out of my 1985 928 and disassembled it. I shipped the whole thing in boxes to a guy in Texas to put it back together for me. He is a very knowledgeable and really loves these cars. Private message me if you want his name. You have to really love these cars and I do, I have been owning this car since 1998. That is the good, now the bad I fully intend to totally rebuild this car back to showroom condition, after I look at all of the money I have spent on just the engine parts, labor not included because I would have done it myself if I would still be in the states. I don’t know if it would have not been better to go out and buy one that someone has already refurbished. The joy of working on it is only worth so much.

I was on the site and one of our fellow 928 owners was selling his 1985 automatic 928, his car was well kept the interior and exterior was in way better shape than mine is now. He was asking $8000.00. As of today Just in engine parts and machine work, keep in mind that my belt broke and I had to get 16 new valves and I did get my intake parts professionally redone. I have right at $5000.00 in parts. Now after I get my interior and exterior back to showroom condition, I am sure I will have at least another $10000.00 in it, a total of $15000.00. I guess the moral of this story is when you see some of the guys on this site selling their 928 and think of all the work and money they have in them, there price is going to be cheaper then you can do it for, if you start from scratch and the best thing is you can turn the key and just drive away. If you are thinking, but I enjoy working on my car, remember it is a Porsche 928 it will give you plenty of opportunities to get under the hood, the dash, the fuse box, the door mechanisms, the sunroof mechanisms, the trunk latch, the brake system, the drive shaft, the seat switches, the wiper motors and so on and so on.

I love my car and I will hope to be driving her in August. I guess that just makes me crazy!!!!!!
