There is another type of locking lug nut that my EURO85 car had on it... It takes a special socket that has the regular hex head on it. The socket "key" has very strong nubbins on it that stick in to the corresponding slots/holes cut in to the locking lug. They are TERRIBLE to deal with! If you don't have the socket "key" you will be in trouble...good to get that taken care of ASAP!

Have a spare hex lug too so when you take off the locking lug you can throw it away and put a regular hex head on in its place.

Also, one of the best ways to get a new key is to take a high resolution pic of your key and email it to www.keysforclassics.com in Australia! They are VERY GOOD and VERY FAST!

Signed up with Porsche 928 International today and ordered a few parts.
Owners manual and Blank Red Key for door locks. Found on eBay a blank
LONG ignition key.

Need red touch up paint. What is the official Porsche name for that red color
And where to find ?
Thx, Jerry

Congratulations!!! and welcome....

A couple of things:
1 - color - maybe I missed it, but I am assuming the PO either kept it up to snuff and possibly re-sprayed the original color? If so the color code is on the door on in the rear hatch floor etc. Likely Guards Red, but check. All my panels were taken off by the PO and it was a respray to a different non-porsche color....bad news. On the list to fix eventually.
2 - I had only one key as well and had mine made in Australia and it works perfect. The guy was great to deal with and I got an original Red Porsche key to boot. I do not think they are available anymore however :(

He has a machine to do it and believe it or not, since I had only 1 key, he cut it from digital PICs I sent him! I swear...this guy is really good apparently. Our keys are cut on 4 sides....it takes a special machine to do them. It depends on what you order of course, but it is really reasonable...I believe I bought 2 keys and shipping and the cutting service and the total was like 30 bucks or thereabouts.
3 - it does look well cared for, just take the time like the others said to get the manuals, spec books, how-tos, tips and tricks related to your model year and just start reading....it is fun but also will come in handy at some point!
Enjoy!

On the dash panel passenger side is a lock. When I turn it up or side,
nothing happens. Is this for a glove box? I see none anywhere upfront. Maybe it locks/unlocks the passenger air bag. Help would be appreciated. Also, Are you the Mike Murphy I worked with at Marriott Corp ( CUP590 fame) during the 1970's ?
Thanks.

Jerry,

The glove box is covered in carpet on the lower part of the dash on the '90 - '95 cars. When you unlock that lock you are talking about and pull the little finger lever that is is the glove box should open below...
