Window tinting was created by WyattsRide
I'm considering having my back and two quarter windows tinted. I stopped at a local shop that advertised auto window tinting and asked for a quote. He declined......whaaa? He said he would only do the quarter windows if I took them out and I reinstalled them. He mention something about no easy way to terminate the tint along the edges on the glass. This is only the first place I tried so I hope for better luck next time.
I know that there are 928's with the back three windows tinted. (not factory) Any one care to tell me how their tinted job was, if you had it done? Was it that difficult to get the quarters done?

Got quotes from a couple shops, did some homework on different films 3M vs. Pinnacle Vs.some others, picked a shop. Had lots of problems- but mainly with the staff, there were no complications when they first tinted the rear hatch and quarter windows. Takes some work with a heat gun and decent film to fit it to the complex curve, and a good cleaning beforehand to ensure no particles are left to slip down from the rubber seal.

that sure doesn't sound right Rick. Check with the guys at CnC if you go this weekend - they are very plugged in to these shops.

Had mine done a few years back. The installer did mention it was one of the most difficult window jobs he has had to do. I have all the windows done and a sun band across windshield top . I think he did a great job.

I already did that and someone recommended a shop in the south hills. The one I went to is on 910 at that Gulf Station. I was driving past there with my car and thought I would just stop and get a quote. I need to check out some other shops.

By way of an update- I had also had 3M crystaline put on my windshield to try to preserve the dash/interior moreso than anything else- it is nearly clear. Could be an installer issue, I had a number of problems with them, but it is very prone to scratching, using the internal custom sunshields post-install is doing a number on it YMMV.
